Ecovacs W1S Window Cleaning Robot Review: Clean, safe, fast, and intelligent, making dusty windows sparkle!

For those living in high-rise apartments, the panoramic view is breathtaking – but there’s always that awkward question: should you clean your windows or not? Doing it yourself is risky, leaving them dirty is an eyesore.

If you’re on the fence, let me share my experience with the Ecovacs Winbot W1S Pro – a window-cleaning robot that might just be the answer.

Unboxing

Though it’s a hard-working little machine, the box is surprisingly sleek – almost like a laptop package.

Inside, you’ll find the Winbot W1S Pro itself – a white body with a blue handle, square yet rounded edges, quite pleasing to the eye. Next to it is an accessory box containing the power cord, safety rope, cleaning solution, and other small parts. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro
The bottom is covered by a large mopping pad, flanked by rubber tracks that provide strong grip and smooth movement across glass in any direction. At the four corners, sensors help the onboard chip plan precise routes and avoid obstacles. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro
What’s particularly thoughtful is that there’s a small brush on the edge of the track to prevent dirt from getting in and to provide stability to the mechanical structure. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro
I’ve been using Ecovacs window robots since 2016 – they’ve kept my large windows spotless, saving me time and worry.

Key Features at a Glance

Real-World Performance

(1) Superior Cleaning Power

Does this little guy actually work? Check out this before‑and‑after comparison: left is the dirty window, right is after cleaning – impressive, right? ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro
Here’s a close‑up comparison of two glass panes – left cleaned, right untouched. The difference is clear. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro
The W1S Pro uses a dual‑nozzle cross‑spray system that delivers more powerful and wider water dispersion than many competitors. This pre‑dissolves and softens dirt, and combined with the high‑permeability mopping pad, a few passes easily remove rain stains, dust, and bird droppings. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro
This photo shows glass just cleaned by the W1S – if I hadn’t mentioned it, you might think the glass was invisible (wink). And that’s with double‑glazed soundproof windows – the dark area on the right is the window frame. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro

(2) Smart Path Planning (8 Years of Window-Robot Wisdom) See Today’s Deal on Amazon

For the first deep clean, use the “Deep Clean” mode – the W1S follows a tight zigzag pattern, going over every inch repeatedly. This initial phase tackles heavy grime, so you may want to change the mopping pad frequently. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro For stubborn spots, the “Spot Clean” function makes the robot repeatedly scrub the local area – most stains are eliminated.

During cleaning, you’ll notice excellent edge‑to‑edge performance – the W1S gets almost zero‑distance to the frame, avoiding the common pitfall of leaving dirty edges. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro Once the initial deep clean is done, maintenance is a breeze – just mount the robot weekly for a quick clean. The “Quick Clean” mode also uses a zigzag pattern but with slightly wider passes – highly efficient, good results, and very hands‑off.

(3) Will It Fall Off?

With up to 5300Pa suction, falling is virtually impossible. The W1S also features leak detection that compensates air pressure within 0.04 seconds if any loss occurs – it can even work while carrying a heavy load.

The newly designed mopping pad enhances the sealing, creating a negative‑pressure environment that boosts adhesion. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro Four edge sensors at the corners detect handles and window edges in advance, so the robot adjusts its path smoothly – no worries there. Window conditions are far simpler than floor obstacles, and if Ecovacs handles floors with ease, windows are a cinch.

Even during a sudden power outage, the W1S stays securely attached for up to 30 minutes after issuing an alert.

And if Spider‑Man decides to snatch it away, the 1900N‑rated safety rope will keep it firmly tethered – a fall is practically impossible.

(4) App Control Makes It Smarter

The companion app offers full remote control – you can set cleaning cycles, toggle auto‑spray, choose return position, and more. ECOVACS Winbot W1 Pro If you’re not satisfied with a particular area, simply use the joystick in the app to fine‑tune. The interface is intuitive and easy for even senior family members to operate.
